Welcome Men to ENGAGE
Being a Christian man is not for the feint hearted. We are called to engage with each other and become the body of Christ on earth.
Paul says to the Romans in Ch12 - "Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship."
Men's Engage at Springwood Baptist Church is about purposely engaging together in a range of activities that will help to mature us individually, bind us together, and draw us closer to our saviour.
Many thanks to -
Ben and Fiona Curren from our church, who operate the buisness Stralia Web, and Mark Drysdale, who works with them, who have kindly donated there time and effort to give us this site to enjoy.
State of Origin 1
This was a very good night of entertainment and fun for the men of our church and there friends, and some men from other churches in the area also. Johnathon Mallen won the NSW origin beanie in the footy doubles competition, miraculously picking Ben Creagh to score first for NSW. Matt Carson-dreaver won the pass the ball competition in a close battle with 3 others - swabs have been taken though. The men were presented with a very short presentation on sexual purity, and the need for men to be working at this area of there life. Men enjoyed good time together, some good food and coffee, and all looking forward to game No2.
Tennis
The Tennis night which is held on the first Friday of each month at 7:30pm continues to be one of the most happiest events on the mens engage calender. There is lots of banter, laughter, good tennis and refreshments. There is ample time to play and enjoy, and also to sit and chat over a coffee and cake. Come along and see how good this night is. Things can get a bit serious though as Callum Reavey came away with a sprained angle, bleeding webbing in his hand, and also humbled on the court. Better luck next time Callum.
Mens golf day
An excellent day had by all. The four ball best ball format really does allow for good time and fun together. The trophy was won by Neale Amos and his son - The closest to the pin was won by Clive Dillan. Interestingly though his team which consisted of Ben Curran and John Shead picked up the wooden spoon for last place - I think Clives shot on the 18th must have been a lucky one Clive ha ha ha ha
